California labor law requires minors to obtain an Entertainment Work Permit.  

The 10-Day Temporary Permit may be obtained for minors between 15 days and 16 years of age without the birth document or school verification normally required for 6-Month Entertainment Work Permit. You must log into the DLSE site to obtain a 10-day permit. 

This portal is provided for use only by studio teachers, prospective employers, or authorized representatives of prospective employers who are seeking to verify the entertainment work permit of a minor employment applicant.
